A little bit about me …

J. R. Lewis is a British Canadian editor and debut novelist based in Okotoks, Alberta. Originally from the UK, she moved to Canada with her family in 2005 and has called Alberta home ever since.

In early 2023, she launched her freelance editing business, Spotlight Editing Services, working with authors across a variety of genres. She is a member of Editors Canada and co-chaired its Calgary branch from 2023 to 2025.

She had always wanted to write a novel, but the time had never been right—until now.

When she isn’t editing or writing, she can usually be found reading—particularly true crime, psychological suspense novels, historical fiction, mysteries, and literary classics—or occupied with something creative, from knitting and crocheting to whatever new project has caught her attention. A good book and a cup of tea are rarely far away.
